The Innovation in Geriatric Medicine program was established as a resource for the division’s research, educational, and clinical initiatives that improve and understand resiliency. The goal of the program is to build a steady pipeline of future geriatricians and to help them thrive in their scientific pursuits, launch new clinical programs, and attend resiliency-focused training opportunities.

California’s older adult population is rapidly expanding, with nearly one in five residents projected to be over the age of 65 by 2030. Now is the pivotal moment to invest in the future of geriatrics through philanthropic support, ensuring that UCLA Health is prepared to meet the growing demand for specialized care and innovation in aging.

Caring for Generations

Your support makes a transformative impact and investment in:

New ideas: Enabling our scientists to take risks and explore novel approaches in geriatric care that would otherwise not be funded by larger granting foundations. Breakthroughs in early research phases lay the foundation for innovative treatments that improve patient care and advance the field of geriatrics.

Patient Support: Comprehensive clinical programs in geriatrics necessitate robust funding, as many of the division’s most impactful clinical programs were initially sponsored by early philanthropic support. Launching new programs have the potential to transform patient care by introducing innovative approaches, such as personalized treatment plans for chronic conditions like dementia, and expanding home-based care services to reach homebound elderly patients.

Future Pioneers: Leadership development, educational training, and research opportunities ensure that our early career physicians are well-equipped to lead advancements in geriatric care.

Your philanthropic partnership is essential in shaping the future of resiliency-based care now and well into the future. We thank you for your thoughtful consideration in making this important commitment to the future of aging care.
