Annual Orthopaedic Surgery Resident Retreat

The Department hosts an annual Resident Retreat at the UCLA Lake Arrowhead Lodge in the spring. All of our residents (PGY2-5) are excused from clinical duties for 2 days to enjoy each other's company and interact with our core faculty outside of work. This retreat allows our residents and faculty to reflect on the past year and discuss our successes and our challenges so that we can all go into the upcoming academic year refreshed and ready to grow. Our time at the lodge includes group discussions amongst the residents and core faculty, leadership training, and teambuilding exercises. We play sports, eat s'mores, laugh and relax together. We finish the weekend with an "Orthopaedic Field Day," a fan favorite. Most importantly, we get to know each other outside of the OR, and we return to LA with shared goals for the upcoming year.
