CASIT's mission is to define and advance the state of the art of surgical and interventional technology, to revolutionize surgical education and training, to enable the development of unprecedented accuracy and precision in the performance of minimally invasive procedures and to deliver novel, interventional therapies to patients.
Education
CASIT is accredited as a Level I Comprehensive Education Institute through the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and provides opportunities for simulation-based training and resident assessment. CASIT provides objective performance-based criteria for certification to maintain its credentials.
Research Innovation
CASIT engages in multidisciplinary research projects involving collaborators from across the UCLA campus including from the Departments of Surgery, Urology, Pathology, Bioengineering, Electrical Engineering and Radiological Sciences.

Rosenfeld Hall is new hub for cutting-edge training, technology and collaboration
UCLA medical education, clinical and other campus leaders celebrated the opening of a newly expanded facility that consolidates the latest technology under one roof to enhance continuous training for future and practicing physicians and other health care professionals
Shaping the future of medical education and advanced training
Among the other new training equipment at the newly opened Rosenfeld Hall are a computerized manikin patient than can breathe, sweat, cry, blink and dilate its pupils; a robotic surgery simulator; and VR 3D headsets to run medical scenario simulations.
