Our hospitals in Westwood and Santa Monica and all of our clinics throughout Southern California have remained open, with the exception of the UCLA Health Ventura clinic.
At this time, normal operations and scheduled procedures are expected to resume on Thursday in the Medical Plaza buildings. Power has been restored to 100 Medical Plaza, 200 Medical Plaza and 300 Medical Plaza on the UCLA campus; and David Geffen School of Medicine classes also are expected to resume on Thursday.
Interstate 405 has been re-opened in both directions, but Sepulveda Boulevard and many ramps remain closed. Keep in mind that closures in different areas of the region and other fire-related circumstances may affect the ability of our patients to reach our hospitals and clinics.
Because of smoke, we continue to encourage patients, visitors, faculty, staff and students to stay indoors and limit outdoor activity.

UCLA Health is currently monitoring impacts related to the Skirball Fire burning in the Sepulveda Pass which is causing significant evacuations and traffic impacts in the area north of the UCLA campus.
We recognize that at both medical centers, there is a detectable smell of smoke within the hospitals. Please be assured that the hospital ventilation systems are designed to filter the air of particulates before it enters the medical centers, although a smell of smoke may remain. At this time, we encourage patients, visitors, faculty, staff and students to stay indoors and limit outdoor activity. Additional masking is not recommended inside of buildings, and likely unnecessary unless there is extended exposure outside of the building. We ask that all personnel keep perimeter doors and windows closed as much as possible. Local air quality rating at UCLA is categorized as Moderate.
All hospitals are fully operational at this time, but all afternoon clinic appointments in 100 Medical Plaza, 200 Medical Plaza and 300 Medical Plaza will be cancelled due to power outages. In addition, the UCLA Health Ventura clinic on Telephone Road is closed.
