Golden Hour/Nesting Time
We provide quiet time known as The Golden Hour in Labor, and Delivery and Nesting Time in Postpartum, to help parents bond with their new arrivals and make gentle transitions to parenthood. The Golden Hour occurs immediately after your baby's birth. Nesting Time happens on demand - whenever you want some alone time with your infant.
- Alternative Birthing Arrangements
The BirthPlace, Westwood respects all types of birthing arrangements and parenting choices. We strive to meet the special needs of adoptions, surrogacy and same-gender parenting with sensitivity and compassion.
- Breastfeeding Support
Our nurses, lactation educators and certified consultants will help ease your transition from hospital to home by answering your questions about breastfeeding and working directly with you. After your discharge from the hospital, you are invited to join our free breastfeeding support group where you can ask questions, discuss concerns and form mutual support networks. We also offer a support group for parents whose babies spent time in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
