Resources for the Transgender Service Provider Network
The UCLA Gender Health Program would like to share with you the following transgender service provider network training opportunities, events and advocacy resources within the Los Angeles area.
Training Opportunities
The Los Angeles County Lesbian, Bisexual & Queer Women’s Health Collaborative is offering FREE on-site training in lesbian, bisexual & queer women's health.
The training is provided as a professional development program for staff, an educational outreach program for your community partners, and/or a presentation for those you serve. The training primarily targets (but is not limited to) community based agencies, social service organizations, health care facilities, government agencies, and educational and academic institutions. The training includes a PowerPoint presentation, discussion on different patient scenarios, and time for Q & A. The staff training is aimed at all levels of an organization such as clinicians, allied health professionals, health care administrators, office support staff, community health workers, health educators, social service providers, and promotoras. The training is one-hour long and addresses the following topics:
- Health disparities among lesbian, bisexual, and queer women
- Promoting self-disclosing sexual orientation and gender identity
- Exhibiting cultural humility and sensitivity in providing care
- Barriers in accessing quality healthcare
- Action steps to take in promoting inclusive services
- Creating welcoming environments
- Best practices in care

is dedicated to being a collective voice centering the narratives and needs of black trans culture. They are committed to fostering the next generation of black trans leadership from within the community through mentorship, scholarship, and community care engagement work. Advocacy Resources
Venice Family Clinic AFFIRM Groups
These groups are focused on improving the behavioral health and well-being of LGBTQ+ people (ages 12-21) through group-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). The groups meet Mondays from 4:30pm – 5:30pm.

Los Angeles County Development Authority
Registration for public housing sites dedicated to elderly families - The Los Angeles County Development Authority (LACDA) is now accepting registrants for its public housing sites dedicated to elderly families. Applicants may add their name on up to seven site-based waiting lists (waiting lists) now through August 10, 2020, 4:00 p.m. by registering at , or calling (626) 586-1845. An elderly family is a household whose head, co-head, spouse, or sole member is a person who is at least 62 years of age. It may include two or more persons who are at least 62 years of age living together, or one or more persons who are at least 62 years of age living with one or more live-in aides. Elderly families may choose, based on eligibility, to register for one, or all seven, waiting lists. Applicants will be selected from each waiting list in order of admission preferences, followed by date and time of registration.
