Alzheimer's Association
The Alzheimer's Association, a non-profit committed to finding a cure for Alzheimer's disease, offers care and support for those living with Alzheimer's disease and those who care for them.
Services include:
- a toll-free, 24-hour Helpline

- individual care management and counseling sessions for caregivers

Alzheimer’s Greater Los Angeles
Alzheimer’s Greater Los Angeles is a local organization that provides programs in English and Spanish to help people with dementia, their families, caregivers, and care professionals including: free counseling on care issues, care planning, support groups, education programs, a 24/7 Helpline: 844.HELP.ALZ and the website www.alzgla.org.
Leeza's Place
Leeza’s Care Connection, affiliated with Leeza’s Place, is a free community gathering place and resource center for family caregivers caring for a loved one with a memory disorder, chronic and/or progressive illness. Radio and TV Personality, Leeza Gibbons created The Leeza Gibbons Memory Foundation in 2002 as a promise to her mother to “tell her story and make it count” after her diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease and her family's subsequent caregiving challenges. The Centers are the signature program of the Foundation as the manifestation of what Leeza “wished we had when we were going through this journey.”
Caregivers come together and develop a new set of skills that help them become stronger, more resilient and grounded with their new life of change and the demands of caregiving. Caregiver support and education offered in English and Spanish. Our Centers locations in Burbank and West Los Angeles serve greater Los Angeles and San Fernando Valley. Our hours: M-Thur.: 10 am-6 pm; Friday: 10am-2 pm with some evening and weekend programs.

WISE and Healthy Aging
WISE & Healthy Aging is a nonprofit social services organization with a mission to serve seniors and their caregivers. Headquartered in Santa Monica, WISE & Healthy Aging continues a 45+ year tradition of service and outreach, with focus on the Los Angeles Westside as well as the surrounding communities within the greater City and County of Los Angeles. In addition to In-Home Care Management Services, the organization offers an on-site adult day care program through its WISE Adult Day Service Center, open 11 hours each weekday. The adult day program is the only designated Alzheimer’s Day Care Resource Center (ADCRC) on the Westside. In addition to supportive, enjoyable and stimulating activities in a safe, comfortable environment (including a system to watch for wandering), there are caregiver support groups held at different times during each month where complimentary companion-sitting is available for the loved one.
In support of caregiver training, WISE & Healthy Aging just launched a Caregiver Training Academy, offering lay caregiver training as well as professional caregiver training that includes a CNA-level (certified nursing assistant) curriculum. Peer counseling support is also available, as well as professional counseling and therapy. WISE & Healthy Aging is proud to also offer a one-stop resource for information and referral, helping families to navigate the myriad of information (good and bad) available in the community. In addition to Monday morning legal clinics in conjunction with the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles, WISE & Healthy Aging partners with a number of other agencies to create a support network for seniors and their families.
Seniors are the top priority at Senior Concerns, a private nonprofit organization located in Thousand Oaks and serving eastern Ventura County and western Los Angeles County.
For the past four decades, Senior Concerns has provided high-quality, affordable support services to seniors and their families through innovative and effective programs aimed at fostering independence, well-being and self-esteem.
We are now a society of more old than young, necessitating a new world order for aging. At Senior Concerns, seniors come alive with enjoyment, affection and contentment, challenging the old age paradigms of losing one’s mind, capabilities or social connectedness. Community members unite to serve the very people who helped build the life we have today. Family caregivers are valued and celebrated. Our lifespans are designed as a process of continuous growth and development. At Senior Concerns it doesn’t end when we get old.
OPICA
Established in 1979, OPICA is proud of its legacy as the first Adult Day Care Center in the City of Los Angeles and continues to be a model for program development and internships. OPICA - Optimistic People In a Caring Atmosphere- provides stimulating and therapeutic cognitive and sensory programs that actively engage people from early to later stages of memory loss and related neurological impairment.
Our Day Center is open six days a week, seven hours per day, offering a continuum of care for all stages of memory loss. The range of activities and services include group and individual support, providing stimulation for the mind, body and spirit. For those with early stage memory loss, we offer a four-hour program weekly for both those experiencing the memory loss and their care partners – “The Brain Train.” In addition, OPICA offers emotional support to family members, providing individual, family and support group counseling for caregivers and the general public.
Jewish Family Services (Los Angeles)
Jewish Family Service of Los Angeles is an extended family of compassionate social services that enriches the community and improves the lives of countless men, women and children of all religions, ethnicities and ages. For more than 150 years, JFS has counseled families, fed the hungry, sheltered the homeless and protected the vulnerable. As Los Angeles’ oldest and most dynamic charitable organization, JFS is a trusted source of care and support, meeting the diverse and changing needs of a diverse and changing city.
At JFS, we are volunteers, partners, donors and friends who all believe in one thing—we can change things and we’re going to do it as a family. This is the heart of JFS: people touching people, reaching out to nurture lives filled with dignity, meaning and joy.
ONEgeneration
Established in 1978, ONEgeneration is a nonprofit social service organization in the San Fernando Valley providing an array of safety net services to older adults.
The Adult Daycare Program is a daytime care program for adults living with Alzheimer’s Disease, Parkinson’s Disease, post-stroke disabilities, and other long term illnesses. The center helps seniors to continue living at home by providing a safe, supervised, enjoyable place for them to go during the day. Hours are from 7 am to 6pm 5 days a week and individuals in the program participate in cognitively stimulating activities, socialization, and physical activities to keep them active and engaged. Their care is supervised by on staff nurses and social workers. The program is enhanced by the opportunity to interact with children from ONEgeneration's Child Care program throughout the day. ONEgeneration’s Senior Enrichment Center provides numerous 5 day a week safety-net social services resources, recreational, health promotion, counseling, and socialization activities. To address the nutritional needs of low income adults in our area, Monday through Friday we provide daily 500 free of charge meals at four congregate meal sites, 220 of which are delivered to homebound disabled adults in our service area, and supplementary nonperishable groceries as needed. For seniors in our Service Area, we provide transportation to important appointments. The Care Management Program oversees coordination of many vulnerable homebound adults each year by providing meals, transportation and care management services.
ONEgeneration maintains integrated relationships with healthcare providers, hospitals and other support agencies.
