Welcome!

I am Dr. Grace I. Chen, the Clinical Chief (Executive Medical Director) for the Division of Geriatrics at UCLA. I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the Geriatric Medicine Practice at UCLA.

Our mission is to provide outstanding, comprehensive care that addresses all of our patients' needs. We work with each patient and family to craft a care plan that respects their needs, preferences and unique conditions.

UCLA geriatricians are specialists in managing the overall health of older persons and treating the medical conditions that frequently affect them, including memory loss and dementia, falls and immobility, delirium, polypharmacy, urinary incontinence, osteoporosis and functional decline.

As a result of our specialized training as geriatricians, we can knowledgably consider and address a broad spectrum of health-related factors – including medical, psychological and social – when treating our patients. UCLA geriatric patient care also draws on the vast clinical services of UCLA, including treatment for Alzheimer’s Disease, psychiatric services and specialty care. In addition, UCLA provides referral to community-based organizations for help with in-home services, exercise and wellness programs and other resources.
