Welcome to the healthy eating section for the UCLA Center for Obesity and Metabolic Health.
In this section you will find the information you will need for long-term health and sustaining your weight reduction goals. Under the supervision of our registered dietitians, patients will discuss a balanced, low-calorie meal plan that incorporates lean protein, whole grains, low-fat dairy products, nutritious fats and plenty of fruits and vegetables. Our team is here to help you find ways to enjoy eating nutritious, filling foods. They are here to support you and motivate you to live a healthier life.
Meet our Dietitians
Angie Huang, MS, RDN
Registered Dietitian
Angie is a second career dietitian with a focus in weight management and healthspan. She completed her Masters of Science in Nutrition, Healthspan and Longevity along with her dietetic internship from the University of Southern California and has a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from UCLA. Angie has a previous background in biotechnology and research and has worked in various nutrition disciplines ranging from metabolic syndrome, cancer, diabetes, to clinical nutrition and bariatrics.
Rachel Malolepszy, MS, RDN
Registered Dietitian
Rachel is a bariatric dietitian who completed her Master of Science in Nutrition, Healthspan and Longevity and dietetic internship from the USC. She also has a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics. Rachel has experience working as an inpatient and outpatient dietitian and has had a wide variety of nutrition experience ranging from nutrition support (TPN and tube feeding), pre and post-transplant, dialysis patients, bariatric surgery, diabetes, surgical oncology and more.
