Dermal Fillers

Aging is inevitable, and as the face ages, it loses the collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid which give it its youthful volume and suppleness.  Dermal fillers allow us to blunt time's razor edge.  By filling in the lines and wrinkles, replacing lost collagen and hyaluronic acid, we can restore the face to a more youthful appearance.  A quick, 15 minute consultation and a few simple injections is all that it takes.  Appointments are available in Westwood and in Santa Monica.   

Juvederm

Juvederm (Ultra, Ultra XC, Ultra Plus, and Ultra Plus XC) is an injectable gel used to smooth moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds.  By targeting the parentheses lines along the side of the nose and mouth, marionette lines, oral commissures, and vertical lip lines, a cosmetic surgeon can restore the face's lost volume, giving a more youthful contour.  Individual results will vary, however treatments can last for up to a year.

The most commonly reported side effects are temporary injection-site redness, swelling, pain / tenderness, firmness, lumps / bumps, and bruising.  Side effects are generally mild or moderate in nature, lasting seven days or less.

Restylane

Restylane and Restylane-L are injectable gels used to enhance the contours of the lips and to smooth out moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. Restylane can improve the shape and proportion of the lips with an aesthetically pleasing, natural-looking result without affecting the lips sensitivity or sensation.  Although individual results will vary, treatments can last up to six months.

After treatment, patients may experience some swelling, redness, pain, bruising, or tenderness.  These symptoms are usually mild and normally last fewer than 7 days for facial treatments and fewer than 14 days for lip treatments.
