'Dribble for the Cure' supports pediatric cancer research, treatments
WHAT:
Mattel Children's Hospital UCLA joins forces with the UCLA men's basketball team, the UCLA Athletics Department and the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation to present the first-ever "Dribble for the Cure," which will feature sponsored participants dribbling basketballs along a course through the UCLA campus. Proceeds from the fundraising event will go toward finding a cure for pediatric cancer and supporting treatments for cancer patients at Mattel Children's Hospital. The event begins and ends at UCLA's Pauley Pavilion and will feature activities, autographs, food booths and entertainment.
"Dribble for the Cure' promises to be a fun day for the whole family and a great opportunity to make a difference in the lives of so many young children coping with illness," said Dr. Kathy Sakamoto, professor and chief of pediatric hematology and oncology at Mattel Children's Hospital UCLA.

8:30 a.m.-noon on Sunday, Nov. 2.

INFORMATION:
Participants will be asked to collect pledges and will be eligible for prizes. Each participant will also receive an official event T-shirt and free entry to two UCLA athletic events on Nov. 2. The fundraiser will also include an online auction featuring valuable sports and celebrity items, tickets to sporting events, one-on-one meetings with celebrities such as Jimmy Kimmel and much more.
