Resident Lecture Series
The UCLA Dermatology Resident Lecture Series occurs every Tuesday morning. The Resident Lecture Series begins with patient presentations where clinicians may examine and interview the presented patients. A brief description of the patient’s history, laboratory results and pathology reports are available for review.
The patient viewing is followed by case discussions. Clinical photos and histopathologic slides are presented to the audience for a discussion of the clinical and histopathologic differential diagnosis, as well as for treatment recommendations.
The Resident Lecture Series lecture occurs after patient presentations. This is a didactic presentation given by invited guest speakers, UCLA faculty, and UCLA residents. The Resident Lecture Series Journal Club occurs once per month instead of the lecture. Articles from the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, Archives of Dermatology or the British Journal of Dermatology are selected for presentation at the Resident Lecture Series Journal Club meetings. Basic Science Journal Club occurs quarterly instead of the lecture. Articles from Nature, Science, Nature Medicine, the Journal of Clinical Immunology, the Journal of Investigative Dermatology and Cell are selected for presentation at the Basic Science Journal Club meetings. Participants receive AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ as well as AAD Category 1 CME credit for attending the patient presentation, lecture and journal club sessions.
