Judi Turner, MD, PhD, Appointed Assistant Designated Institutional Official, UCLA Graduate Medical Education

Judi Turner, MD, PhD, has been appointed as the Assistant Designated Institutional Official (DIO) for UCLA Graduate Medical Education (GME). As Assistant DIO, Dr. Turner will develop and cultivate an inclusive culture of teaching excellence and professional development within the community of GME trainees and faculty at UCLA.
Dr. Turner has been involved in many facets of Graduate Medical Education since completing her Anesthesiology Residency at UCLA in 2006. She served as the Assistant Residency Program Director until 2011, then Program Director from 2011 until 2020. As Vice Chair for Education for the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine, Dr. Turner has continued to contribute to GME as the Chair of the GMEC Policy Subcommittee. She is actively involved in teaching trainees and medical students, as well as serving as core faculty in the ACGME-UCLA Interactive Workshop “Developing UCLA Faculty Competencies in Assessment” for the past 5 years. Most recently she has served as the Co-Chair of the GME Committee on Learning Environment Oversight, bringing her valuable expertise in education to the table. A recipient of the Serge & Yvette Dadone Clinical Teaching award, Dr. Turner has numerous publications and presentations.
