HERSTORY – Hereditary Exploration and Research for Screening and Testing for Oncology Risks in Women
This is a multi-disciplinary prospective research study focused on understanding genetic, environmental, socio-economic, and other determinants of cancer in women with a family history of the disease. Principal Investigators leading the project include Dr. Vivian Chang, Dr. Paul Boutros, and Dr. Beth Karlan, UCLA Gynecologic Oncology.
UCLA OBGYN physicians are nationally and internationally recognized not only for their clinical expertise but also for their pioneering research. Our goal is to increase basic research and translate the findings into clinical trials.

- PRIORITY (Pregnancy CoRonavirus Outcomes RegIsTrY) is a nationwide study of pregnant or recently pregnant women who are either under investigation for Coronavirus infection (COVID-19) or have been confirmed to have COVID-19. Yalda Afshar, MD, PhD, a UCLA OBGYN maternal fetal medicine specialist, is a CO-PI on this study that is overseen by a team from UCSF and which is being done to help patients and doctors better understand how COVID-19 impacts pregnant women and their newborns.
