Medicare Plan Options Made Simple
UCLA Health is working with Berwick Insurance Services, a company that offers a free service to help you find the Medicare coverage that's right for you — and accepted by your UCLA Health doctors.
Go to PlanEnroll.com, a non-government website, to connect with a licensed insurance agent who can walk you through your options and help you enroll in a plan.
Medicare Annual Election Period
Medicare's Annual Election Period runs from Oct. 15 through Dec. 7. This is your yearly opportunity to review your current Medicare options and make any desired changes. These changes will take effect on Jan. 1 of the following year.
New to Medicare / Initial Enrollment Period
When you first become eligible for Medicare, you have an Initial Enrollment Period (IEP) that allows you to enroll in the Medicare coverage of your choice. This enrollment period starts three months before your 65th birthday, includes your birth month, and ends three months after your birth month.
If you miss this period, you may incur monetary penalties and your access to certain types of Medicare coverage could be restricted. We encourage you to take advantage of our collaboration with Berwick Insurance Services to help you navigate your various options during your Initial Enrollment Period.

PlanEnroll represents Medicare Advantage HMO, PPO, PFFS, and Prescription Drug Plan organizations that have a Medicare contract and/or a Medicare-approved Part D sponsor. Enrollment depends on the plan’s contract renewal. Enrollment in a plan may be limited to certain times of the year unless you qualify for a Special Enrollment Period or you are in your Medicare Initial Enrollment Period. Not all plans offer all of these benefits. Benefits may vary by carrier and location. Limitations and exclusions may apply. Every year, Medicare evaluates plans based on a 5-star rating system.
PlanEnroll is a brand operated by Integrity, LLC and is used by its affiliated licensed insurance agencies that are certified to sell Medicare products. PlanEnroll, PlanEnroll.com is a non-government website and is not endorsed by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) or any other government agency.
