COVID-19: Who Can Afford to Pay the Costs of Care?
Farm workers are among the most essential workers in California. Essential workers are paid very little, and they rarely have health insurance. If they become infected with the coronavirus, they often have to pay their medical costs out of pocket.
In the face of the COVID-19 pandemic and its effects on essential workers—such as farm workers–who earn little and rarely have health insurance, we find ourselves asking the question: Who shall live?
