Community Blood Drives
Welcome to the Community Blood Drives. In partnership with many community groups, the UCLA Blood and Platelet Center travels to various locations to host blood drives. Thank you for selecting UCLA to facilitate your generous blood donations.
Community Blood Drives allow the UCLA Blood and Platelet Center to interact with community members while providing donors with a rewarding donation experience. In addition, blood drives provide UCLA patients with an adequate and safe supply of blood coming from donors within our communities. All blood drives follow a similar process, however, they are not all the same. Some blood drives are large others are small. Some are high schools, churches, businesses, college campuses, and some are community events. With the great diversity in our community, we are able to collect all blood types to support all kinds of life-saving medical procedures that are performed daily at UCLA Hospitals.

National Marrow Donor Program®:
In partnership with Be The Match®, operated by the National Marrow Donor Program®, donors have the opportunity to register at a majority of our blood drives to be part of the largest and most diverse marrow registry in the world.

The goal of the UCLA Blood & Platelet Center is to provide patients with safe blood collected from volunteer donors. Like all other facilities in the nation that collect blood, we must follow FDA rules about who may donate. To determine eligibility, visit our Eligibility Page.
