Responsibilities

As a Clinical Psychologist at the Simms/Mann Center, I provide psychosocial support to oncology patients and their loved ones, helping them navigate the emotional and psychological complexities of cancer. My role involves collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams to promote a holistic approach to patient care. With extensive experience in medical settings, particularly working with patients facing chronic and terminal illnesses, I am skilled in a range of therapeutic modalities. My clinical approach includes a foundation of evidence-based interventions and an emphasis on connection with meaning. I strive to help those I am privileged to work with learn a new way of relating to themselves—one that cultivates growth and resilience. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to continuously learn, evolve, and contribute to the well-being of others.

Training and Professional Experience

I earned my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from California Lutheran University. My work experience has taken place in various medical settings across Southern California, including UCLA, Ventura County Medical Center, and Community Memorial Healthcare. Within these settings, I treated patients experiencing chronic and acute illnesses, substance use disorders, mood disorders, trauma and stressor-related disorders, grief and loss, amongst other presenting concerns. I also contributed to clinical trials at Providence Saint John’s and completed my APA-accredited internship at VA Los Angeles Ambulatory Care Center. Early in my career, a palliative care rotation ignited my passion for psychosocial oncology, leading me to pursue further training at the Simms/Mann Center. Since then, I have aspired to return to oncology-specific work, and I am incredibly thankful for the opportunity to serve as a licensed psychologist at the Simms/Mann Center.

Personal Interests

During my free time, I love being with my family and living life at a slow pace. Whether we’re sharing laughter or just relaxing together, those moments mean the most. My husband and I share our home with a cat who brings us lots of joy. I have a deep love for animals and daydream of having a rescue ranch one day. I also enjoy traveling, experiencing new cultures and great food.
