Applying to Volunteer

  1. All students must first sign up for a mandatory Information Session.
  2. Applications will be sent via email only to those who attend the Information Session. Volunteer selection occurs after the Information Session.
  3. Once accepted you will be required to submit paperwork and medical requirements.  Once everything is completed, you must attend a Student Orientation.

NOTE: Please do not mail or drop off application. Applications are ONLY accepted online.

  1. Due to detailed onboarding procedures, all prospective volunteers should plan to visit the volunteer services office 2-3 times before volunteering.

** Due to the high interest of student volunteering for UCLA Health, we revised the student application and intake process. We no longer onboard high school students in the school year. High school students onboard in spring with expectation to complete 100 hours over the summer.

Parking

  • Volunteer Services is unable to provide free parking for student volunteers.

Shadowing Policy

  • Individual volunteers or students are NOT permitted to shadow UCLA health professionals as part of their volunteer/student role (this includes UCLA SRP Students), regardless of the UCLA health professional accepts/invites you to shadow.
  • Shadowing by undergraduate and graduate students is permitted only as part of an Approved and Formalized Shadowing Program sponsored by DGSOM and/or UCLA Health.
  • The Volunteer Office does not provide opportunities for volunteers to shadow.
