Dr. Candy Ezimora was thrilled to come back to California after spending time on the East Coast for her graduate and medical studies. She has interests in physician leadership and personal finance. Outside of medicine, Dr. Ezimora enjoys cooking, leading guided mediations, and practicing Vinyasa Yoga.

Why I chose UCLA: UCLA has granted me an exceptional training experience. Our surgical colleagues specialize in highly complex and innovative procedures, which require us to be able to rapidly apply our full array of technical skills and medical knowledge to provide the best and safest clinical care for our patients. Our faculty physicians are the best of the best. I feel privileged to work with and learn from them every day.
Dr. Sean Mofidi’s hobbies and interests include cycling, running, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, photography, reading, cooking, and exploring the outdoors with his wife. He has completed several Ironman and Ironman 70.3 triathlons. Dr. Mofidi is also a die-hard Lakers fan and is still basking in the glory of their 17th title... 10 years in the making!

Why I chose UCLA: I chose UCLA because I really liked the people and the structure of the echo education program!
Dr. Christine Stypula’s arrival at UCLA for fellowship marks her entry into the “family business,” as she will be the 4th cardiothoracic anesthesiologist in her family! Prior to her medical training, she spent many years in international development and global health. Her interests outside of medicine include cooking, traveling, Alpine ski racing, golf, and European and Japanese historical fiction.
Andrew Wu, MD

Why I chose UCLA: I chose UCLA for fellowship because it has great case mix and good balance between doing the cases myself and supervising residents. I am very confident I will be well prepared for any cases post-training.
Dr. Andrew Wu was born and raised in China and did not speak English until he moved to Indiana at age 15. He loves all things sports, serving as head basketball manager and video coordinator during high school and a basketball coach at an inner-city elementary school in Los Angeles during college. Additionally, Dr. Wu had two years of professional training in table tennis while he was in China. Aside from sports, Dr. Wu has experiencing cutting hair and has also entered multiple singing competitions in Los Angeles!
