Biography

Degree in Biology 2005-2010 (University of Salamanca, Spain) and Master and PhD in Neurosciences 2010-2016 (Institute of Neurosciences of Castilla y Leon, Spain). My scientific career has been focused in the study of the cell biology of the retina not only in the healthy eye but also during retinal degeneration. I’m interested in the study of cellular processes, where several components interact to change the cellular features. During my PhD studies I investigated the polarization process of the retinal pigment epithelial cells. I’m now studying the molecular mechanism of the formation of the new discs of the photoreceptor cells. Among other techniques I have expertise in laser confocal imaging, cell culture, in vivo subretinal injections or CRISPR/Cas9 editing. During my free time I like chatting with friends, doing sport, reading or eating good food.
