What Are the Symptoms of Omicron?
Dr. Yang's SARS-CoV-2 work is highlighted in the fall 2021 edition of "U" Magazine:
COVID Watchdog - U Magazine - UCLA Health - Los Angeles, CA
Dr. Yang discusses what is known about COVID-19 antibodies and T cell protection immunity against infection with Dr. Mark Hellerstein, a professor in the Department of Nutritional Sciences and Toxicology at UC Berkeley and at the Department of Medicine at UC San Francisco and Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong, the executive chairman of the Los Angeles Times. Dr. Soon-Shiong is also a surgeon and scientist who has spent his career studying the human immune system in fighting cancer and infectious disease. Last year, Soon-Shiong’s company, ImmunityBio, received permission from the Food and Drug Administration to begin Phase 1 trials of its COVID-19 vaccine candidate.
Will the current crop of COVID vaccines provide lifetime immunity?
Dr. Yang contributes an opinion piece to USA Today about SARS-CoV-2 variants, the efficacy of the vaccines against the variants, and the role of the media addressing the benefits of COVID-19 vaccines.
