While the program is limited to graduate and professional students only, this program is not limited to specific departments or schools. Trainees come from a variety of degree programs (PhD, MS, MA, MPH, MPH/MSW, MECN, etc.) and represent students from across the UCLA campus including the Fielding School of Public Health, the Luskin School of Public Affairs, and the School of Nursing. We welcome any interested graduate students from UCLA to apply. If you’d like to speak with the program administrator regarding the MCH course requirements on top of your current degree course load, please email [email protected].

Historically, students have received an academic stipend to increase resources for educational activities related to their academic pursuit of MCH-related activities. Stipend amount depends on program type and funding availability. Supplemental funds for presenting at conferences are available on a limited basis, and have to be requested with program coordinator.

Recruitment occurs in the fall quarter of every academic year. Details on timelines and application requirements can be found on the Admissions page when available.

This training program is funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) under training grant T73MC30114. Based on grant stipulations, in order to receive financial support under this program, a trainee must be a U.S. citizen or non-citizen national or other permanent resident of the United States.
