Ask Me About My Research
The UCLA Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology faculty have been instrumental in pioneering research discoveries and patient-centered care practices across various areas, including general obstetrics and gynecology, as well as specialized fields like gynecologic oncology, maternal and fetal medicine, reproductive endocrinology and infertility, urogynecology, menopause, and family planning.
Beginning this Spring, UCLA Gynecologic Oncology faculty will wear “Ask Me About My Research” lapel pins. “These pins are meant to encourage and invite patients and their families to ask about research being conducted in the department to improve patient care outcomes,” said Gemma Makishima, Senior Director of Development for UCLA Health Sciences. “Our faculty are eager to discuss their efforts to discover new and improved diagnostic approaches, treatments and personalized care.” The program is being piloted in the Division of Gynecologic Oncology, and the goal is to initiate conversations with patients and families allowing them to learn more about the broad scope of research underway in the Division.
