Subspecialty Pathology
We offer yearlong subspecialty surgical pathology fellowships in GU pathology, cardiothoracic/pulmonary pathology, breast pathology, gynecologic pathology, Head & Neck pathology, and bone and soft tissue tumor pathology. The fellowship is predominantly composed of subspecialty rotations feature duties as junior attending, supervising residents and presenting cases to the attending ready to sign out, managing the busy subspecialty consult and referral biopsy services, presenting at tumor board and multidisciplinary conferences and on translational research projects. All fellows also spend one rotation as a frozen section/gross room supervisor at The Ronald Regan UCLA Medical Center and complete a one-month general surgical pathology rotation at Santa Monica UCLA Medical Center . Fellows will have the opportunity to independently sign-out clinical cases and perform intraoperative/frozen section consultations. There will be a proctoring process in place to determine the fellow’s readiness to have these clinical privileges.
