UCLA Children's Services Expands in Santa Monica
We are here for your children if you ever need us. Our Nethercutt Emergency Department is the only designated "Emergency Department Approved for Pediatrics" in Santa Monica. UCLA Santa Monica Medical Center also has the only Pediatrics Unit and Pediatric ICU in town, should your child need to be hospitalized.
Our hospital is staffed by faculty from UCLA Mattel Children's Hospital, which is ranked among the best pediatric hospitals in the nation.
Other kid-friendly services include:
- Chase Child Life Program with specialists to help kids and their families adjust before and during hospitalization through play therapy
- Expertise in high-risk pregnancy management and delivery
- Pediatric specialists (cardiology, GI, nephrology, etc.) available for consultations during hospitalizations

UCLA's Geriatric Services Ranked as one of the top three in the Nation
Year after year, U.S.News & World Report ranks UCLA's geriatric services as one of the top three in the country. UCLA geriatricians are specialists in managing the overall health of people age 65 and older and treating the medical disorders that frequently affect the elderly.
As a result of their specialized training, geriatricians can knowledgably consider and address a broad spectrum of health-related factors - including medical, psychological and social - when treating their patients.
Among other services, UCLA geriatricians provide hospital care on a dedicated geriatric-medicine service at Santa Monica-UCLA Medical Center and Orthopaedic Hospital, post-hospital care at rehabilitation facilities in West Los Angeles and Santa Monica, and primary care at nursing homes in West Los Angeles and Santa Monica
Orthopaedics
UCLA's orthopaedic services in Santa Monica provide the full spectrum of care for bone and joint disorders. Our experts utilize the combined resources of our hospitals in Santa Monica and Westwood to treat adults and children for virtually all musculoskeletal problems: hip and knee replacements, shoulder injuries, spinal disorders, sports injuries, foot and ankle, oncology, hand and trauma.
Our dedicated Orthopaedic Oncology Unit at UCLA Santa Monica Medical Center provides access to our UCLA cancer experts in a separate, patient-friendly setting for patients with bone cancer.
Our physicians and researchers together strive to bring the newest technologies and treatments to our patients. We boast one of the largest and most productive orthopaedic research facilities in the world: The Orthopaedic Hospital Research Center.

Oncology
Many of UCLA's cancer services - from outpatient to hospital care - are now offered in Santa Monica. Our community oncology practice in Santa Monica, with its state-of-the art chemo infusion center, allows easier access to comprehensive cancer care services and investigative clinical trials at UCLA.
Our highly skilled physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals specialize in cancer care. Our dedicated Oncology Unit at UCLA Santa Monica Medical Center provides a comfortable place for cancer patients to receive high-tech, high-touch care.
