The UCLA Gonda (Goldschmied) Diabetes Centers in Westwood and Santa Monica offer opportunities in clinical research for patients with diabetes and other endocrine disorders.  UCLA is also home to excellent basic research.  UCLA houses the Larry L. Hillblom Islet Research Center(Link opens in new window), where faculty aim to better understand islet formation and prevention of the destructive processes that occur in diabetes. More recently, the Mitochondrial and Metabolism Core(Link is external) (Link opens in new window) was formed to better understand mitochondrial bioenergetics and the potential underpinnings of obesity and diabetes.

The UCLA Division of Endocrinology also supports ongoing medical education through multiple formats, including the Josiah Brown visiting lecture series(Link opens in new window), Endocrine Grand Rounds series and UCLA Endocrinology fellowship program(Link opens in new window).
