Neonatal Surgical Disorders
UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital provides comprehensive care for infants with conditions requiring specialized surgery. These conditions may be diagnosed prenatally, or just after birth. A multidisciplinary team of highly skilled providers collaborates with the family to ensure optimal outcomes for infants requiring surgery in the newborn period.
Team members for infants with surgical disorders:
While being cared for in the Neonatal ICU a typical team will include: neonatologist, neonatal nurse practitioner, certified neonatal nurse, wound care specialist, respiratory therapist, physical therapist, occupational therapist, dietician, pharmacist, and child life specialist.
Depending on the condition being treated, our patients will be seen and cared for by our surgical experts including: pediatric surgeons, pediatric head and neck surgeons, pediatric cardiothoracic surgeons, craniofacial/plastic surgeons, neurosurgeons, pediatric urologists, and anesthesiologists.
