How You Can Help
The UCLA CORE Kidney Program aims to impact the surrounding communities to achieve excellence in health by fighting kidney disease through increasing awareness of the needs of our community through Clinical Excellence, Outreach, Research and Education (CORE).
Our past May 5th Kidney Event was a huge success. We had over 1,500 participants and so many lives have been touched and we are grateful for every participant that came to our event! It would not have been successful without you and your dedication!
In addition, the May 5th event was also used to fundraise for future events such as future educational health fairs, free educational monthly seminars that are set up by an interdisciplinary team to provide the support, education and resources for those who have kidney disease or want to learn more about them. Over 31 million people are currently diagnosed with kidney diseases and 26 million are un-diagnosed kidney disease. This is because kidney diseases are considered to be silent killers; many people do not realize that they have the disease until it is too late. These types of diseases are incurable; the only way to treat them is through an organ transplant or dialysis life-support. Hence, we feel that it is never too late to spread awareness and education by community outreaches. Through education and lifestyle modifications, we are able to help spread education on kidney disease prevention.
You can help our cause by volunteering your time, wearing your green ribbon to spread awareness or donate online.
