Care Compliments

Robert ?.

Robert was very kind and helpful at my CT scan today. He helped to figure out a misunderstanding before my appointment so that I could keep it. He was also very nice and encouraging during my appointment, and gave my water to drink on the way home to flush the dye out faster.

Kodi A.

This is for Dr. Kodi Azari and especially his amazing team. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience after a frightening accident. When it counted I felt my health and care truly mattered to everyone on staff. Everyone who helped and has advised me, whether the nurses before and after my surgery or the assistants and staff in Dr Azari's office, have been wonderful, caring, respectful and attentive to all of my questions and concerns. I'm an artist and machinist,my profession depends on my hands, I'm so grateful that everyone took my needs seriously. My healing is a work in progress, because of Dr Azari and his team, I know that I have the resources, care and help I need. Thank you all so very much!

Kimberly,
You were a joy to behold. I received excellent care from the whole team but you were a stand out. You were so sweet, friendly and competent. You made me feel special. Thank you so very much.

Princeton L.

My son's doctor is Dr. Princeton Ly and he is just the sweetest, most attentive and comforting pediatrician I think we've every worked with. He's smart, so friendly and takes the time to listen to my son and I. He explains in depth any situation we're experiencing and the steps we'll need to take together to solve it. He has new and current opinions about mostly anything I bring up and very interested to remain connected about any situation my son is dealing with no matter how small it may be. It's such a relief to find a good pediatrician that not only connects with the child...and the parent...but one that your child likes and has no problem when it's time to see the doctor. That's a gem right there!

Spencer A.

Dr. Spencer Adams is a very caring and compassionate doctor. He takes time to talk with me and my family and answers all our questions and never seems rushed. He takes the time to get to know his patient and worked really hard to try and figure out the puzzle of what was going with me. He made us feel very comfortable and taken care of. He is great!

Danielle B.

Danielle is extraordinarily kind and calming yet efficient at handling my anxious self as I recover from my procedures. She made my stay so much better. She explained everything and answered all my questions many times explaining why I needed to stay longer than I wanted. UCLA has a great reputation and Danielle is why, and I know she had many patients to care for yet I felt like I was her only patient.

Samantha J.

Thank you Sam for your attention and dedication to your patients! This was actually the first time in 35 years that I've had to be admitted to the hospital, and though I was apprehensive, you and your colleagues were comforting, kind and provided excellent care. Thank you!

Katelyn -.

I went into UCLA Health North Hollywood Radiology office to get an MRI taken. Katelyn was fantastic from first greeting me, throughout the whole process, and until the very end when she walked me out. I was a hard stick patient, so it was a struggle to get the IV in, but Katelyn tried her best and got help from Jerry and another staff. Katelyn was there with me throughout everything and making sure I was ok and wasn't feeling uncomfortable. They were all very friendly and assuring me that it's ok. Being a hard stick patient, I sometimes encounter impatient and aggressive staff/nurse, but I had such a wonderful experience at UCLA Health. I felt very comfortable and knew that I was under great care and attention. I definitely do want to recognize their great work!!

Deborah W.

In early July 2022, my ENT referred me to Dr. Deborah Wong as an urgent case for chemotherapy treatment of a rare aggressive cancer in my sinus.

Dr Wong is a highly sought-after oncologist with an active and busy practice at UCLA Hematology-Oncology Department. Dr Wong runs a tight ship in her office with the support of a team of well coordinated staff. Because of their high efficiency, Dr Wong and her office staff were able to fit me in for an urgent appointment and set up my chemotherapy treatment immediately.

I must say Dr Wong is on top of her game. She walked me through the entire chemotherapy treatment process without leaving out a single detail. Moreover, Dr Wong understands the importance of her cancer patients' emotional well-being and mental health. She kindly suggested psychological and psychiatric support, should I need it now or in the future.

I look forward to conquering my cancer with Dr Wong's guidance and support.

Elliot A.

In late June 2022, I was diagnosed with paranasal sinus cancer, a rare malignant tumor in nasal cavities. After the biopsy confirmed my diagnosis, I was quickly referred by my ENT for a consultation with Dr. https://www.uclahealth.org/providers/elliot-abemayorElliot Abemayor, MD, PhD at UCLA Head and Neck Surgery.

Prior to my appointment, I did a great deal of research with the understanding that Dr Abemayor is a well-respected, seasoned, and renowned neurosurgeon. However, my consultation with him has shown Dr Abemayor is much more than a distinguished surgeon.

While Dr Abemayor has over 40 years of experience in complex head, neck, and spine cancer surgeries, he takes a holistic approach tailored to each individual patient. In my case, for example, Dr Abemayor has recommended chemotherapy as the first course of treatment, which is not only based on my current prognosis, it also takes into account that my job as a litigator involves frequent appearances in court and meetings with clients and opposing counsel. Dr Abemayor's well-thought-out treatment plan for me has obviated the need for invasive facial surgery (and any possible followup reconstructive surgery). It accommodates both my medical and professional needs.

So when you see Dr Abemayor, you won't just explore your surgical options because he will carefully evaluate your diagnosis and recommend an overall treatment plan. After that, Dr Abemayor will personally take the lead and assemble a team of highly competent medical experts for your treatment.

As in my case, Dr Abemayor promptly conferred with his oncology colleague and went out of his way to get me an expedited appointment with an oncologist on the same day that I met Dr Abemayor FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME!

Having such a cohesive team on my side has made me feel reassured and confident about my cancer treatment at UCLA Head and Neck Surgery. And, having a kind, caring, and preeminent expert like Dr Abemayor in charge of my medical care is a true blessing.

Daniel F.

Did a dumb thing and fell off a weight bench smacking my head into my weight rack. Wasn't bleeding or vomiting, but it was hard enough I felt I should get it checked out. I was REALLY SCARED (Mom was a nurse; I know just enough to be dangerous) and Dr. Daniel Frochtzwajg did everything to put me at ease: very thorough exam, great bedside manner and sense of humor - just excellent, excellent care. He didn't rush the exam, went over all the clinical signs, told us how to treat it going forward and what red flags to watch out for. He is a terrific example of what is meant by world-class health care at UCLA.

Amara M.

Starting at the moment you pull up, the valet, the security staff, admitting, Nicole in the surgery lounge, cafeteria staff and the doctors and nurses were all very nice, friendly and helpful. The areas are clean including the restrooms, lobby, lounge and cafeteria.
The lounge has several charging stations and outlets. They have lockers for patients belongings, so if you are waiting you don't have to lug them around with at no charge.
The monitor in the surgical lounge that has and ID code (assigned to each patient) that is color coded and indicates tracking stages of the surgery. (admitted, in pre-op, ready for procedure, in the operating room, procedure has ended, in recovery room, etc. No personal information) This is very helpful, accommodating and appreciated.
They have masks, and hand sanitizing stations throughout the building.
They serve Starbucks coffee in the cafeteria. (My daughter works at a Starbucks) The food is good too.
Dr. Yeh was amazing. The staff that attended to my wife in recovery (Natalie, Amara, Rick, Lucky and Maggie were incredible!!!

Ashley I.

Ashley performed my mammogram so excellently that I did not suffer any of the usual breast pain that always accompanies such exams!! She had clearly taken the time to develop a very advanced technique in knowing how to manipulate the breasts with minimal discomfort. Therefore I, and I'm sure many other women, are grateful to her!
