Sister Mary Margaret Ajiko visited UCLA and spoke at Surgery Grand Rounds on November 6, 2019. Dr. Ajiko received her MBCHB and Master of Medicine in Surgery from Makerere University and is a surgeon at the Soroti Regional Referral Hospital in Uganda.

Resident education and intellectual development are principal goals of the program. Residents are provided with formal didactics, guidance, and resources for independent and group learning. On a weekly basis, multiple scheduled teaching sessions encourage critical thinking and discussions with faculty. In response to COVID-19, we have also developed a weekly Zoom curriculum featuring talks by residents and faculty members, including special “How I Do It” sessions on operative anatomy.
