Inspiring Future Surgeons: Our Comprehensive Training and Mentorship Program

Medical students within the CORELAB are provided endless opportunities to explore various surgical specialties and receive mentorship for residency preparation as well as expand upon their research portfolios.

Once onboarded, our trainees are paired with fellows, residents, or senior medical students to increase their understanding of statistics and begin working on directed projects. Students begin by working on literature reviews, manuscript writing, and data analysis. These students go on to lead several first-author projects and present at conferences across the nation.

Over the years, CORELAB has amassed a longstanding legacy of alumni who jumpstarted their journeys as medical students working closely with our team. These students have received numerous accolades including the Society of Thoracic Surgeons Looking to the Future Scholarship, Viola Hyde Research Awards, Medical Student Traveling Grants, and the Longmire Surgical Society recognitions.
