Advancing High-Impact Research: Achievements of Our Residents and Fellows

Residents and fellows lead high-impact projects that are accepted to top journals including Jama Surgery, Journal of the American College of Cardiology, The Annals of Surgery, and The Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery.  

Our trainees submit to national conferences including the Annual Academic Surgical Congress, Western Thoracic Surgical Association, Society of Thoracic Surgeons, and the Pacific Coast Surgical Association.  

Furthermore, our residents and fellows have been awarded prestigious honors such as the Shumway and Samson awards for top projects at the Western Thoracic Surgical Association Annual Meeting as well as the Resident Research Award at the Southern California Chapter of the American College of Surgeons Annual Meeting.
