Pan Fried Tofu in Garlic Soy Sesame Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 1 pack (250 g) of firm Korean tofu  
  • 1-2 stalks (10 g) of green onion, thinly sliced 
  • 2 Tbs cooking oil 
  • 2 Tbs soy sauce 
  • 1 tsp sugar 
  • 1 tsp toasted sesame seeds 
  • ½ tsp sesame oil 
  • ¼ tsp minced garlic 

Instructions:

  1. Remove tofu from packaging and drain the water. Pat the outer layer of tofu with a paper towel or kitchen paper. Slice the tofu into 10 bite sized rectangular pieces (1/4 inch thick). Pat both sides of sliced tofu with a paper towel. 
  1. Heat a nonstick frying pan on high heat and add cooking oil to the pan. 
  1. Add the tofu and lower the heat. Pan fry over low heat for about 5 to 7 minutes on each side until golden brown.  
  1. Remove tofu from heat and add green onions in a shallow bowl. Mix soy sauce, sugar, sesame seeds, sesame oil, and garlic in a small bowl. Pour sauce over tofu and serve.
